If this is your first marching band adjudicated event, or if you are new to the world of marching bands, you may be wondering how the OMEA judges come to their conclusion in rating the performing bands! Perhaps the following will help you to understand the process of judging a band show.

The Turpin Marching Band competes in two regional circuits, the Mid-States Band Association (MSBA) and Ohio Musical Education Association (OMEA). These events give the band a place to perform in front of a wider audience and are scored by judging panels. The band's achievement is announced at the conclusion of the day's events. OMEA and MSBA scoring systems are different.

Band Uniform Information

We will be fitting uniforms during band pre-camp. Please make sure that any uniforms that are sent home for alterations are returned before picture day.

Summer Uniform: Maroon band shirt, tan khaki pants (no cargo pants) and white gym shoes. (This includes color guard.) There will be sample band shirts available on the fitting days to determine correct size.
